In the first war, a Cherub angel named Cilian led an army of angels and humans into battle against Belial's army. After a bloody battle, Cilian and his army were defeated, and the battlefield became a site of decaying bodies that emitted a horrible odor. A human soldier informed the Archangel Michael, the leader of the Army of the Righteous, and he wept for the dead.

After the war, the city of Ilscent was established on the same battlefield where the angels and humans lost their lives. Ilscent was named as a reminder of the horrors of war.

Today, Ilscent is the largest city in the Kingdom of Gildan, where King Kiltin Boah and Queen Eleanor Calista Boah reign. However, the couple never had children, and their time as rulers will end in the decades to come.

In the Kingdom of Gildan, it is customary to have seven paladins, special knights who have risen to the highest rank. When the reigning King or Queen passes away, one of the seven paladins is chosen by the people of Gildan to become their new ruler. This cycle has been ongoing for thousands of years.

Ilscent is a vibrant city with a diverse population of almost a million people from different races. The city is well-known for refining and imbuing the Borris Stones with magic and for its forward-thinking culture that encourages the development of new magic. Additionally, Ilscent is home to some of the most influential social groups worldwide and is the center of Gildan culture.

Most of the Gildan army's troops are stationed just outside Ilscent, and the city serves as a center for trade between the Kingdom and the neighboring country of Caroundael. Ilscent boasts one of the greatest libraries and is also known for harboring dark secrets.
